Tangled Forest

Her mother always told her never ever go down into the Tangled Forest. Because if she did she would never be the same again. She was a good girl. Most of the time anyway. And as rule she did as her mother told her. But there was something about the Tangled Forest. It was beautiful, dark and seductive. All green and black. Never still always moving, it was alive and it breathed. Under its breathe it whispered ‘Come’ over and over and over. Everyday she walked past it and remembered her mother’s warning, but still it fascinated her. She thought it was the most beautiful wonderful thing she had ever seen. so dark and wild. But she loved her mother and her warning was always in her head. But one day as she was passing the Tangled Forest the temptation became to much. It called and she followed. Blindly. Down into its deep dark depths. It closed over her head like a pool of water closes over a pebble. And for the first time in her life she knew she was home. Her mother had told her only part of the truth. If she went down into the Tangled Forest she would never be the same again. And she would never leave.
