At least, you will probably either be an aspiring writer or an avid reader to have any interest in this blog.
I have started this blog with two purposes in mind. First of all, I love to read, but I am a very picky reader. There are innumerous things that make me through novels out of windows, and I like to talk about this quite a lot. The problem is that none of my family or friends particularly want to listen to me dissecting the book I have just read. So I will be posting my thoughts on books (possibly also TV shows) here, instead.
I look forward to exchanging comments with other people who either feel the same way I do, or feel the need to respond to my whinging. All comments welcome.
The second purpose I have for this blog is to make it useful for other people. There are many blogs about books and TV on the internet, so I felt I should do something with this one that people would be interested in. So, in addition to commenting and reviewing on published books that I am reading, I am also offering up my opinion on any unpublished short stories or bits of novels-in-progress that anyone might wish to send me.
I'd better just say that I am definitely not an expert in writing or anything like that. But I do read a lot, and I know what I like and what I don't like. If you just want an honest opinion of something you have written, I am happy to oblige. And I promise to be polite and constructive.
